11.00am-6.30pm Saturday 3 October 2015
Sandi Wallace will be chatting with YA author Nicole Hayes at 12.00-12.45pm.
Nicole and Sandi’s recent releases are both set in contemporary Victoria and centre on quests for truth.
Nicole’s One True Thing is a page-turning young adult book that explores politics, music and secrets that aren’t secret when your whole life is public. A woman missing from Hepburn and a previous unsolved case are at the nub of Sandi’s award-winning, gritty, rural crime novel Tell Me Why.
Sandi and Nicole will chat about the inspiration and perspiration behind their books, how their backgrounds have influenced their writing, and what’s next.
Honey Brown is on at 3.15-4.00pm.
Honey Brown’s latest book is a collection of short stories.
Honey’s talk will be focussing on the short story format and the pathways to getting published. She’ll talk about character and setting and discuss the topic of sex in fiction and offer some hot tips on how to have your story command the attention of judges in writing competitions.
Both Sandi and Honey will be part of the panel discussion at 4.15-5.30pm with Peter Sharpe (Chair), Charles Hall, David Tattersall, Sandy Jeffs, Jacqueline Dinan, which will be followed by drinks and conversation in the foyer until 6.30pm.
